Acceptable Use for Members of the Elmnet Network

Members of the Elmnet Network include dial up and broadband users classified by the following categories:

Residential users of ISP Elmnet

Residential users of Usairwave

Business users of ISP Elmnet

Business users of Usairwave

Non profits users of ISP Elmnet

Nonpaying users of ISP Elmnet

All users of Elmnet’s mail server

Elmnet Inc has the right to suspend usage of any member of the Elmnet network. If in the judgment of the network administrator activity by a member of the network warrants suspension; the administrator has the right to suspend that member at anytime. Activity that may result in suspension includes the following:

Member of the network engages in an activity that threatens the security or stability of the network,

Using the network to engage in or facilitate activity not in compliance with Federal or Illinois State statue,

Member of the network attempts to mass mail (spam) or otherwise spoof the network,

Data transfer through the network exceeds limits set for the level of service for that user category,

No member of the network is allowed to host a server of any kind. Elmnet provides separate hosting of web servers for an additional fee and a separate contract,

Elmnet assigns IP addresses to users these are not owned by the user and can not be conveyed to another party,

Member of the network accesses network from a new location without Elmnet’s knowledge or permission,

Member of the network does not respond to Elmnet inquiries in a timely manner.

Member of network fails to meet the conditions of service either by nonpayment or other agreement with the officers of Elmnet Inc.

Elmnet’s mission is to provide Internet access to the members of the network. The Internet and email open users to contact with people and information Elmnet has no control over. Elmnet Inc. is not responsible nor can it be held liable for the following:

service disruptions,

a user’s implementation of technical advice,

technical problems at a user’s location,

use of data or services transferred,

quality or accuracy of information,

possible misuse of Internet content.

a virus or other malicious content downloaded by user
