A tabbed dialog box will open
Select Security Tab
You will see a check box --- Do Not Open Attachments
Uncheck it and click OK
Restart Computer and you will be able to open attachments

Avast at avast.com is a good program free for personal use.
Try not to download any free cute add ons with out checking it out by searching for more information.
Install AdAware (lavasoft) or Spybot Search and Destroy (safer networking.org)
Open programs run scans, keep them updated both are free programs
Open in Safe Mode to prevent spyware programs from loading
Run AdAware and Spybot Search and Destroy again while in Safe Mode
Pestpatrol.com will scan for free but not remove for free (good information)
Some programs even those that are not free add more spyware than they remove .
Wild Tangent required to play AOL games will be identified as spyware.
Never download anything to help search, enhance browser, save money, or find free stuff
Always close pop ups by clicking X in upper right of window, do not click in them.
Buy a Mac, spyware only targets Windows because that's what all the computers in world are.
