Iowa Interstate Railroad

The IAIS 604 north,  the Peoria Rocket local,  is preparing to head north at Henry, IL.
I think I read somewhere that Al Roberts was a traffic manager for the railroad and is responsible for getting the Maytag business out of Newton, IA for the IAIS.  Must be pretty important to name an engine for him.

IAIS 495 and company sit in the small yard in Bureau, IL with a cut of grain hoppers.
You've really got to love the paint job on the 495.  Looks like they used a paint roller to put that IAIS on the side.
I suppose as long as it moves,  they don't care what it looks like.

The IAIS 600,  a GP38,  and a GP10 Paducah rebuild lead the BICB west through LaSalle, IL.
The area around LaSalle and Peru is really neat as the railroad is down in the Illinois River valley.
There are also several old Rock Island buildings left down in this area.
