Always a Bottleneck...
BNSF's Ravenna Sub

A single BNSF SD70MAC is on the point of a DPU'ed coal load
waiting at the end of double track in Milford, NE.
Milford is where the mainline swings back to an east-west alignment after heading almost due south from Seward.
This is also where a stretch of double track narrows down to single track for the run east to Pleasant Dale.

After a lengthy delay,  the BN 8178 moves it's empty hoppers through the end of double track at Pleasant Dale, NE.
Pleasant Dale is a great spot to sit and watch the parade of trains that can stack up.
This is where the BNSF dispatcher is put to the test trying to get all those Ravenna Sub black diamonds through the single track stretch between here and Milford.
